Llano Railroad Tracks: History and Future Plans

The Llano River Railroad tracks are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Llano River Railroad is planning to start an excursion train following along the Llano River.

Buttery Creek Trestle

The first trestle east of the depot. This trestle has handrails because livestock was moved across Buttery Creek to the livestock pens.

Railroad Tracks

29 miles of the Austin Northwestern Historic Railroad District. The tracks are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The tracks cross the Llano River in 9 places by trestle bridges, which are also listed on the register.

View of the Llano River

River scenes like this can be seen all along the tracks. These 10 miles have  the most spectacular views of the Llano River, making this a great place for photography.
